- This documentary, directed and produced by Anne Moir, reports on the recent revival in the use of the leech in medicine, for instance its use by plastic surgeons. Looks in particular at the work of Dr Roy Sawyer who runs a leech farm in Wales and has spent fifteen years investigating its therapeutic properties. He believes the saliva from leeches holds the key to the treatment of stroke and heart attack victims.
