- Summary:
- This short film documents in a fascinating but disquieting way the escalation of criminal activity perpetuated by one man and later an accomplice between 2001 and 2003. Using footage from several security cameras located around Seoul city, Influenza, in a way that is voyeuristic in style, shows the psychological and moral downward spiral of a troubled individual known only as "Mr. Cho." Through the first several security camera images we see Mr. Cho standing forlornly on the edge of the Han River Bridge, reciting lines to sell glue in front of a mirror in a public restroom, and being forcibly escorted off a subway train by security guards. However, his behavior becomes more violent and erratic as subsequent security camera images show.
