- In 1978 Miuccia Prada inherited the family's leather goods business from her mother and quickly expanded the company into one of the most talked-about clothing and accessories lines in Italy. Prada is always ahead of the times, and her individual style is often translated into trends by her contemporaries. In 1992, Prada branched out with a successful secondary line, Miu Miu, followed by Prada Sport, a menswear line, and a lingerie line. Miuccia's influence on the fashion world is so great, she has twice received the CFDA's International Award.
