- Summary:
- Toby Ellis has Ipex Syndrome, which is an extremely rare and dreadful auto-immune disease. His body lacks the cells which would help his immune system decide what's harmful and what's harmless. This means Toby's immune system attacks his own major organs. Toby's mother has never been allowed to kiss him, as her everyday germs could kill him. Without a bone marrow transplant Toby will die. At the same time, Toby's aunt is pregnant and will only find out at the child's birth if it too has Ipex Syndrome (50/50 chance). The film captures Toby's transplant operation - and also follows his aunt's story to its conclusion.
