- Summary:
- This 5 part series traces the rise of Asia's maritime industry back to its early years, traversing periods before the turn of the twentieth century, post World War II until the present. It documents the growth of Asia's ports and other auxiliary services such as offshore industries, logistics and banking services which have all acted as stimuli for the development of industrial estates, trading and urbanization in the region. The programs focus on the contributions of key individuals in the maritime industry, individuals who played a part in Asia's rise as a maritime hub. Asia continues its rise in nautical might, building most of the world's biggest, most advanced ships and oil rigs.
