Summary:
Hoarse coughs and bumps in the night can be blamed on the Brushtail possum, the most successful of all Australian marsupials to adapt to city living. With 24 known species of possums in Australia, some are regarded as pests, others as rare, and a few even endangered. A look at their behaviour reveals that sharing the environment with possums can be a pleasure rather than a problem.
