Summary:
This program offers viewers the 'tour of a lifetime,' an epic journey aboard what is know as 'the most luxurious train in the world,' the Rovos Rail. Here we step aboard the beautifully restored 'Pride of Africa' to enjoy a world-class travel experience that is second to none. We begin by learning the history of the train, which was established in 1989 thanks to the passionate vision of the owner, Rohan Voss; then our slow-paced journey continues with uninterrupted views of some of the most spectacular sights in South Africa. In stops along the way we view African wildlife in the Londolozi Private Game Reserve in Kruger National Park; visit the grave of mining magnet Cecil Rhodes (Rhodes Scholarships), who founded the diamond company De Beers, in the Matopos National Park; tour Kimberley's 'Big Hole,' the world's largest diamond mine; and we see incredible aeriel footage of one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls. By journey's end viewers know why Rovos Rail has earned an international reputation for offering 'the world's finest scenic safari.'
