Summary:
Episode 241 - Antarctic Airstrip: Antarctica is a vast wilderness. Its frigid climate means that human habitation across the continent is limited to a few scientific bases. In recent decades this scientific focus on Antarctica has sharpened because of the unique role the frozen continent plays in the Earth's climatic system. Recently, on glacial ice near Australia's Casey Antarctic Base engineers have carved a flat airstrip allowing easier access to scientific teams that can now visit the southern continent for shorter durations.
