- Summary:
- In rural Australia, golf is played on fairways and greens carved out of the bush, leaving plenty of room for native plants and animals to make their homes. But in the city, a golf course is more often than not, an oasis of green in a sea of houses and roads. Designers are now realising the need to take heed of their bush cousins and put back the native plants they destroy when clearing for fairways and roughs.
