- Summary:
- When a young man returns to Bangkok, his hometown, after finishing college, his miserly uncle expects to put him to work collecting interest on loans made to the poor. Tu rejects this job, saying he wants to help them get out from under the burden of debt and that he is going to do it by putting their musical talent to work for themselves. Money is the root of everything, or so a song in the film goes. And indeed money is everything in this film. With multiple storylines converging and convoluting the film's plot, Tu's uncle's plan to ruin his nephew takes front and center. But the musical lives and fortunes of Tu and his friends never takes a back seat to that plot, because in the end money, money, money becomes a matter of fate that can't be denied.
