- Summary:
- The film is based on a story set in the late 18th century Bengal, when child marriages were very prevalent. A rich feudal lord's teen aged daughter's marriage could not be held as scheduled, and under circumstances she had to marry a Brahmin servant of her house, lower than her age, that day. As she could not accept him and insulted him, the boy deserted her, only to be accepted later in life when he became a rich feudal lord, and returned to the village.
