- Summary:
- Faces that would have been horribly scarred are being saved by surgeons using 21st century technology. Ian Smith's lower jaw is rotting away because the radiotherapy that cured his cancer has killed healthy bone and tissue. Now a computer generated 3-D model of his jaw will help his surgeon rebuild the dying jaw. At the Royal London hospital, a new 3-D scanner is helping maxillae-facial consultant Simon Holmes save the faces of his trauma patients including teenager Steven whose face was ripped off by a falling wall and Esther who suffered horrific injuries in a motorbike accident.
