- Summary:
- While walking across the street with his groceries, an elderly man is hit by a wealthy businessman driving a new car. The old man suffers a head trauma and becomes insatiably hungry. His daughter and son-in-law seek compensation from the businessman for the mounting hospital bills, but the request is continually rejected. The two get desperate and step up their demand for the money with threats. Meanwhile, the businessman's well-kept girlfriend tries to help her lover, a handsome pianist who desperately needs money to pay off his debt to some hoodlums. She feigns a kidnapping to get the money. The two storylines converge and the characters move in and out of each other's stories as a dangerous game to grab the cash turns into a battle of wits. Featuring Hong Kong stars Eric Tsang and Gigi Leung and acclaimed Mainland actor Xia Yu (Electric Shadows), this film was promoted as a New Year's comedy and was a big hit with both audiences and critics alike.
