- Summary:
- Yellowstone National Park, whose magnificent natural beauty is located in three American states - Wyoming, Montana and Idaho - was the first national park in the world; it is known for its spectacular wildlife and many geothermal features, including the most popular attraction, Old Faithful Geyser. Aptly named, this highly-acclaimed documentary reveals this high country's many natural treasures through a year's four seasons. We learn the park's history from authentic mountain men; then view grizzly bears, antelope, coyote, elk, badgers and birds. We visit Morning Glory Pool and see geysers of the Upper Geyser Basin set to music; then tour the Old Faithful Inn and Lake Hotel. We learn that Yellowstone Lake is the largest high altitude lake in North America; then accompany a park ranger on a typical day. We enjoy a hearty breakfast at Yancy's Hole; then view bighorn sheep in the canyon; elk cows playing tag, buffalo and otter before winter scenes throughout the park close the program.
