- Summary:
- NEW PUNCH FOR VIETNAM FLEET: The nuclear-powered carrier "Enterprise" has joined the 7th Fleet off the Vietnam coast to lend added power to the coastal patrol. The mighty carrier will be joined by the nuclear-powered guided-missile frigate "Bainbridge" to become the first such ships in history to enter combat. L.B.J. HEARS GRAHAM: The President is among 61,000 people - 10,000 more than the Houston Stadium's capacity for a sporting event - who attend a revival meeting conducted by Billy Graham. The famed religious leader meets with the President after backing the Administration's stand on Vietnam. CHRISTMAS CHOPPING TIME: Across the country there's a new twist to acquiring your Christmas tree - go out into a tree farm, pick it out, and chop it down. It's not much cheaper than buying it in town - but it revives that pioneer spirit, in some manner. SPORTS ARMY-NAVY END IN TIE: The Middies and the Kaydets clash in their classic battle before 102,000 in Philadelphia and most of the game is marked by flawless defense play on both sides. Army scores early, and Navy scores just before the first half ends. But that's all the tallies as the second half is a stand-off, with neither team reaching the others' 30-yard line.
