Summary:
Ten Australians sail north of Darwin in a homemade boat to meet our forgotten neighbours in the Spice Islands of Indonesia's Maluku province. In Darwin the crew of the Waitpinga have arrived from all over Australia. They'll sail into Indonesia, but first they plan a quick stop in the Tiwi islands, to meet their famous dancers, before heading to the islands of Tanimbar. Then to Aru, home of the legendary, Birds of Paradise. Then to the Kei, and Banda islands, and finally to the island and city of Ambon, recently wracked by religious violence. Their floating home is the Waitpinga,a 44 ft catamaran, hand built by their adventure wunderkind Captain Aidan Glasby.
