- Summary:
- One small step for man, One giant leap for mankind. Those were the famous words from the lips of Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon. At 10.56 pm on July 20, he and his colleague Buzz Aldrin became household names and stepped into the history books as they found out what it was like to actually walk on the moon's rocky surface. There had been ten previous attempts at a lunar landing, but the only one to succeed was Apollo 11, carrying Armstrong, Aldrin and their co-pilot, Michael Collins, who stayed in the shuttle as his workmates made history.
