- The six-day war was a heavily armed conflict between Israel and the Arab states of Syria, Egypt and Jordan. In just six days, Israel took control of the Gaza strip and the West Bank of the Jordan, known to be occupied territory. From beginning to end the war lasted just 132 hours and thirty minutes, but the ramifications in the Middle East are still felt today.
