Summary:
The programme is the second in a pair of programmes tackling the issue of singing skills and confidence, it is extremely relevant to non-specialist teachers delivering Music in the KS1/2 classroom, and focuses on applying the techniques shown in programme 1. Most young children love to sing, but teachers who lack confidence in their own singing find it difficult to introduce and nurture singing skills in the classroom. This programme follows up on an INSET workshop that was delivered to staff at Cecil Road Primary School by Kent LEA music advisor, Helen MacGregor. Helen re-visits the school to see how they're doing. She looks at Reception, Year 1, Year 4 and Year 5 teachers to see how they are using the warm-ups, chants and songs she has taught them with their pupils.
