- PRISONERS OF WAR EXCHANGED KOREA - A wave of rejoicing sweeps over families of servicemen as the first batch of sick and wounded prisoners are exchanged at Panmunjom. Thirty Americans and seventy of other nationalities are among them. Red prisoners from surrounding islands are brought to Pusan to be taken to the transfer point. TWISTERS RIP SOUTH GEORGIA - Tornados rip through three southern states, killing at least 11, injuring hundreds, leaving thousands homeless.
