- Summary:
- The bridge too far. September 1944 , the British assault on Arnhem . It was meant to cut months of the end of World War II, save thousands of lives. But it ended in disaster. British paratroops fought elite Nazi units in a courageous last stand. But the British were doomed, trapped behind enemy lines. In Britain and Holland , special groups were working urgently to help these men breakout and escape from Arnhem.
