- Summary:
- AEGEAN TRAGEDY: The Greek ferry, "Heraklion," is sunk in the Aegean Sea during a furious storm. 235 are dead or missing, 49 survive. The ship was on a routine overnight crossing from Crete to Athen's Port, Piraeus. Cars and trucks battered open the bow of the ship; 15 minutes later it went down. MARINELAND SHOWS RARE DOLPHINS: For the first time in the United States, four rare Risso's Dolphins go on display at Marineland, Florida. Their strange markings are caused by teeth wounds from other Dolphins. They were found aground on the beach 75 miles away from their new home. SIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS: The sights and sounds of the Yuletide season. From the giant tree at New York's Rockefeller Center...to various decorations....to busy shoppers....toys....and the beautiful carol, "SILENT NIGHT", by both an American and German choir.
