- Summary:
- VIETNAM ELECTIONS: In South Vietnam, more than four million voters cast ballots to elect a Constituent Assembly. The elected assembly will create a new Constitution and propose national elections. The heavy turnout at the polls is seen as a victory over Vietcong terror tactics. GEMINI II: NEW SPACE RECORDS: Commanders Charles Conrad and Richard Gordon surpass all of America's previous Space exploration flights with a three-day journey which embraces seven man-in-space records. Among them: First-Orbit docking, altitude record of 850 miles, and on-board computer navigation assistance. A bull's-eye splashdown caps it off!
