Summary:
Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) is a commonly performed procedure for nasolacrimal duct obstructions of several etiologies. Post-operative monitoring of the DCR ostium help in assessing healing of the freshly created DCR ostium and can notify the physician of any aberrations of post-operative healing. There are several parameters on which the assessment of a DCR ostium is based. This video elucidates fundamentals of assessing types of DCR ostium granulomas that will help the ophthalmology and otolaryngology surgeons. The video illustrates endoscopic measures to manage different types of DCR ostium granulomas including intralesional steroids, surgical aspiration, silver nitrate cautery, etc. It lucidly explains a flow-chart based management strategies for DCR ostium granulomas.
