ORPHANS ESCAPE PLANE BLAST ENGLAND - A hair's breadth escape from disaster for 26 children when a Canberra jet bomber crashes just outside an orphanage and explodes, miraculously without injuring any of the youngsters. WOMAN SPY JAILED GERMANY - A modern Mata Hari is brought to justice - attractive Irmgard Schmidt, convicted of extracting secret data from United States intelligence officers for the Reds.
