- Summary:
- "'The Parents' Guide' is where you'll find out what's going on in schools today and hear some of the key issues being discussed from the parents' point of view. This programme joins presenter Fiona Millar and two parents, together with education consultant Anne Goldsworthy, to discuss how science is being taught in primary schools. They look at Teachers' TV programmes and see how primary science presents new challenges for teachers, pupils and, of course, parents. Why is science important? What makes a good science lesson for younger pupils? How do teachers get across difficult concepts such as gravity? How can visiting scientists and engineers help in the classroom? What is the best way to support your child's learning in science? All of these questions are discussed by the panel."
