- Summary:
- It's Monday, the first day of a unique week-long scientific investigation into work-related stress among staff at a secondary school. Why is it blue Monday for some, and happy Mondays for others? The staff at Kings Langley Secondary School near Watford have bravely volunteered to take part in this world-first experiment for Teachers' TV. Hermione Cockburn and a team of scientific experts descend on their school for a week to monitor and evaluate the stress levels of the workforce and attempt to answer the question "How stressed is their school?" In this first episode the focus is on the science: the DNA testing, the pedometers, and the £2 million vest that allows the scientists to remotely monitor a person's vital signs in real time. Hermione is joined by stress experts Dr Mark Hamer and Professor Terry Looker. Together, they watch the school staff at work to see how their bodies respond to the demands of their jobs.
