Summary:
Mel Ainscow is Professor of Education and co-director of the Centre for Equity in Education at the University of Manchester. His lecture to PGCE students at the University of Manchester is called The Big Challenge for the English Education System: Excellence and Equity . Mel will explore why some children are excluded, and what can be done to include in the education system those pupils who would usually be excluded. Mel Ainscow is also the Government's Chief Adviser for the Greater Manchester Challenge, a £50m initiative to improve educational outcomes for all young people in the region.
