- SPACE POLICEMAN: The 18-story-high SATURN I sends the PEGASUS TWO into orbit. The world's most powerful rocket sends this space policeman to outer space where it will study the effect of meteoroids on spacecraft. DE GAULLE CAMPAIGNS: President Charles De Gaulle makes a five-day tour of France under heavy guard. As his tour ends, authorities announce that 11 extremists were arrested. Two of them high police officials accused of a plot to assassinate the President. DeGaulle shrugs off these attempts on his life with Gallic fatalism as he prepares to run for re-election. NEW VIETNAM WEAPON: Some added punch is on the way for Uncle Sam in South Vietnam as four Coast Guard cutters are shipped to Southeast Asia. They will patrol remote coves and beach areas to prevent the smuggling of Red Chinese arms to the Communist Vietcong. WHIRLYBIRD SETS RECORD: The helicopter can no longer be regarded as a 'slow-poke'. It is now a reliable workhorse. The new XH-51-A does 272 mph and in this first public showing does a handy 240 zooming mph! FLOWERS COMPETE WITH ROYALTY AT SHOW: The Chelsea Flower Show on the grounds of the Royal Hospital in London - is the largest show of its kind in the world and is always graced with the patronage of royalty. This year Princess Margaret and the Queen Mother find that the blooms are among the most beautiful in the history of the flower show.
