- Mamie and Shiku are two young African girls. Almost adults. One is 17 years old, the other is 13. These two minor refugees who arrived in England to get a better life become friends. But soon, administrative and police issues separate them. Mamie becomes a clandestine while Shiku's foster family makes her a maid. The story tells how Mamie's courage will maybe allow them to have a future. It is a film about friendship and fear provoked by the discovery of a new world, a new language and new habits. What makes them adults has less to do with their age than with their stories.

C'est moins leur âge que leur histoire qui en fait des adultes.
