- Summary:
- They were the heroes of the Old West, standing tall against the forces of lawlessness, the United States Marshals. The Frontier Marshals and Deputy Marshals were lawman in a lawless land, tough man in a tough country. They pursued such notorious outlaws as Billy the Kid, The Dalton Gang and the Doolin Gang. In doing so, they became the staff of legend and myth. Wyatt Earp, Pat Garrett, and Bat Masterson, their names are etched in America's memory. But there were other less famous lawmen who really defined the role of the U.S. Marshal on the frontier. These men brought countless criminals to justice and help tamed the West. This is their story. The story of the man who wore the star.
