- This World War II-era newsreel includes the following segments: 1. Twenty-four submarines are loaded with explosives and shelled by the cruiser Chicago. 2. Columbus, Georgia, and surrounding vicinities are sprayed with DDT and cleared of debris. 3. Buildings are constructed in Yellowknife, Canada, as a result of a gold rush. 4. Cypress trees are felled in the Florida Everglades. 5. The Roosevelt Estate becomes a national shrine; in the dedicating ceremony, Mrs. Roosevelt and President Truman deliver speeches.
