- In 2005, thousands of people from all over the western world will make a medical pilgrimage to a remote hospital in China, where Dr Huang Hongyun claims to be able to restore functions that doctors said were lost forever. The procedure is arguably the most controversial and pioneering on the planet: the injection of olfactory cells taken from aborted foetuses into the patient's brains or spines.
