- Summary:
- An expert gives trainee teachers straightforward advice on how they can build good relationships with their mentors. Trevor Wright, author and senior lecturer in education at the University of Worcester, says the relationship is not an equal one; but there are steps trainee teachers can take to re-balance the relationship. This involves the trainee teacher taking responsibility for managing the processes involved, and learning how to respond to criticism of their teaching in order to take charge of their own development as professionals.
