Summary:
Subordinating conjunctions in German require special word order. This video shows you some of the most popular subordinating conjunctions in example sentences. Subordinating conjunctions start subordinate clauses (dependent clauses), which require you to move the conjugated verb. The conjugated verb in the dependent clause moves to the end of the sentence if the dependent clause is second. If the dependent clause is first, you have to move the conjugated verb to the end of the clause and the conjugated verb of the main clause to the front of that clause, which is behind the comma.
