Who doesn't like Ringo Star? The legendary rock icon with a sense of humor as devastatingly good as his acting - star of Richard Lester's 1965 Help! - he would collaborate with giants of the film industry such as Marlon Brando, Ken Russel and Martin Scorcese and met his second wife, ex James Bond girl Barbara Bach. Even after many hard years of drifting, defined by alcoholism, the Beatles jumped into the ring with force in 1989 to lead the All-Starr Band, a group that took many different forms - counting today fourteen versions of itself, where, according to Starr "everyone on stage is a star in their own right". And it's truly a flock of greats from rock, blues, funk and soul who invade the stage at the maiden concert of the Supergroup in 1989 at the Greek Theater, Los Angeles. From drummer Jim Keltner to Dr. John and his rich feathery costume at the piano for a rousing cover of the cult-classic "Iko Iko" from Sugar Boy and His Cane Cutters, joined by the rhythm section of the Canadian rock group, The Band: Levon Helm (drums) and Rick Danko (bass). Also on stage, the mythical Billy Preston on the keyboards, the fabulous guitarists: Joe Walsh from the Eagles - for a cover of "Life in the Fast Lane" - and Nils Lofgren from Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, but also (and most importantly), his partner from the same group, the monstrous Clarence Clemons (saxophone and vocals). A programme like a yellow submarine, in which the All-Starr band take us on a ride through an evening bursting with some of the most famous songs from power pop, unforgettable tracks from the solo career of our captain (who's magnificent "Photograph" is performed with son Zak Starskey on drums) and punctuated with "Ringoisms" that make the drummer a showman with a groove as surprising as it is incredible.
