A New York University study has indicated that living in a city with high levels of air pollution can be as hazardous to your health as living with a smoker and inhaling second hand smoke. In California, scientists from the Scripps Institute are conducting a study of California's renowned smog to determine its origin. Meanwhile, the rivers of Bangladesh, Iraq, and China are choking with modern-day pollution that researchers say puts millions at risk, and of the efforts to save these rivers of life. Also, how a Philippines couple has devised an ingenious way to recycle solid waste and profit from their innovative idea in the process.
