- Summary:
- Nutrition has become the most challenging and exciting of all the sciences in the 21st century. It holds out the promise of transforming the world of food into one of good health and vigor for people throughout the lifetime. Food, Nutrition and Good Health traces the dramatic shift in people's relationship to food and good health. The program begins with the early discovery of the macronutrients needed by everybody on a daily basis including, carbohydrates, fats and protein. It moves on to the creation and basic tenants of the food pyramid, followed by the now "personalized nutrition" era which allows people to tailor a healthy diet based on genetics, age, activity level, ethnic group, social and economic conditions.
