- Summary:
- Angela Gheorghiu returns to her native Romania to visit the extraordinary painted churches of Bucovina. Having met Madrigal Camerata - long recognised as Romania's finest choir - in Bucharest, she travels north with them to the 16th Century churches where frescoes cascade across every wall. Exploring these unique, almost fairytale buildings, Angela discovers that it's not just the structure and decoration of the churches that has survived - monastic life also continues, unchanged. And into these monastic communities, set amidst the beech and pine forests, Angela and Madrigal Camerata bring their own gift - music.
