- Summary:
- Fryderyk Chopin devoted himself to writing almost exclusively for the piano. This selection of 48 early Études and Préludes highlights both the brilliance of his innovation as a composer and the new possibilities of emotional subtlety that he created for the instrument. The Études are performed by the dazzling young pianist Freddy Kempf and were recorded in the evocative setting of the Chateau de Neauville, Gambais. The Préludes, also forming a cycle of works, were recorded by Alfredo Perl, in the opulent grandeur of Hopetoun House, Edinburgh.
