- Summary:
- Minimal pairs are two words in a language that differ in only one phonological element. These words are used to show that a difference in the pronunciation of a word has an impact on the meaning of the words and therefore is a linguistically significant difference. In this video I use a few of these pairs in German and use them to help you practice the small subtle differences in pronunciation that can often lead to miscommunications.
