Summary:
Eight Dolganes, an ethnic group from northern Siberia, are interviewed by a young ethnologist, Yann Borjon-Privé. What triggers their word: personal photos or taken from official archives. In this region with extreme climatic conditions, forbidden to foreigners a short time ago, this population still practices transhumance to the rhythm of reindeer herds but accesses the contemporary world where cell phones and Internet connections are present. And where the effects of climate change are already being felt. Each of these eight portraits is reviewed, six months later, by Yann Borjon-Privé. An opportunity to return to his profession as an ethnologist, the learning he makes of it, the importance of field missions.
