- Summary:
- Lennie, a black British man of Trinidadian extraction, picks up an African bronze mask in the antiques market in London's Portobello Road. Intrigued by his find, he tries to track down who made it. His quest takes him from experts in London to its original home in Benin, Nigeria. The story it has to tell is one of magic, greed and an extraordinary, hidden tradition. This programme will complement the exhibitions of African art currently on display around the world.
