Summary:
Henry Fielding's classic tale is a ribald and rowdy romp through the mansions and taverns of Georgian England. The innocent, good-hearted Tom Jones is a foundling adopted by Squire Allworthy. As he grows up, he falls in love with Sophia Western, the daughter of neighbour Squire Western. Unfortunately, she is already betrothed to Blifil, his scheming arch-rival. Tom is forced to leave to seek his fortune in the outside world, but he bed-hops his way out of a good home and almost into a hangman's noose via a series of misadventures and misunderstandings.
