- Summary:
- For people with diabetes, low or high blood sugar levels can be very dangerous. A dog's sense of smell is so acute that it can detect the change before a patient falls ill. The Medical Detection Dogs Training Centre in the UK is training dogs to be able to alert diabetes patients when their blood sugar levels are low and to fetch the medical kits for the insulin injections.
