- Summary:
- Nil By Mouth takes a realistic look at modern day England rarely depicted in motion pictures. Featuring an original score by Eric Clapton, Nil By Mouth explores the lives of those individuals who find it difficult to exist in today's world. The story, its characters, the setting and the mood are taken from a series of memories that writer/director Oldman had while growing up in South London working class family. The characters, through the prevalence of humor, deal with addiction, co-dependency, and the complexities of human interaction, spousal abuse and poverty. Their behavior and human interaction is colored by their language, often violent and profane, and their lack of communication skills between the sexes or generations.
