- Summary:
- Vogue investigates the significant increase in gender dysphoria cases globally. These are people who don't identify with the gender they were assigned at birth. Vogue follows the story of Jack, a 26 year old Ringsend transman reaching the later stages of his transition and dealing with massive body changes triggered by testosterone treatment and preparing for his first major surgery - a hysterectomy. She meets people dealing with early gender identity issues, including 10 year old Matt; born a girl, he's so terrified of the changes that puberty will bring that his parents are opting for Hormone Blocking medication to stave off puberty altogether. Vogue meets Irish experts in the field and visits 'Gender Odyssey' in Seattle - one of the world's largest gender identity conferences. There she has her binary view of gender thoroughly challenged - meeting Scottish Transman Conor who gave birth to his own daughter, Intersex 'Fairy Queen' Lonness Valenna who was born with both male and female genetalia, male model Aydian Dowling - the first transman to appear on the cover of Men's Health Magazine - and twin brother and sister Aidan and Brenda who used to be twin sisters Bonnie and Brenda.
