- Summary:
- The exceptional quality of the works designed by the architects Fernando Borrero, Alfredo Zamorano Pizarro (graduates Universidad Nacional de Colombia) and Italian architect Renato Giovanelli Welby (1923-1999) of the firm Borrero, Zamorano & Giovanelli (1952-1959) reveal sophisticated features of abstract composition at the level of the most notable masters of international architectural modernism and occupies a central place in the consolidation of modern architecture in Colombia. The book includes a historical contextualization of regional social and economic conditions, as well as the ideas of modern architecture and its adoption, to introduce the reader to the work of these architects through a selection of fifteen built projects that allow us to understand and enjoy the values of their works, illustrated through the images captured by the lens of Otto Moll González.
