Summary:
This book presents the significant visual and plastic contributions, in terms of language, that the teacher Beatriz González has made in the understanding of the phenomenon of violence in Colombia and its historical correlates with the armed conflict in the country. Although the artist decides to paint what she faces in her daily life, she does not leave aside the possibility of making a critique based on the treatment of color, form and planes with which we speak of a war, the actors who have lived it and the scars it left on each of them. Beatriz González: entre la violencia, el dolor y la memoria is a manuscript that seeks the opening of collective consciousness in the face of a social state of law injured by war, of a community that became accustomed and naturalized violence as part of daily life and of actors who continue to live from the pain of others. In this book you will find the meaningful and sensitive relationships that have been woven between violence, contemporary art and the media during the last decades of the twentieth century and the following decades of the twenty-first century. The question of violence awaits in itself the meaning of why the historical horizon, especially sensitive and memorial, that this Latin American country has narrated in its last century of life must be rediscovered.
