Summary:
The urban history of the neighborhood Bosque Calderón Tejada in Bogotá has been marked by the tensions of a neighborhood seen as illegal. Although more than five generations of families have inhabited this place since the early 20th century, throughout its history. Faced with the act of resistance by its inhabitants to the possible eviction and real estate pressure, the community has developed a tradition of community organization that has fought for the search and guarantee of minimum conditions of habitability. With this publication we want to make evident how "a hacienda scheme persisted to the 20th century, and where later and due to the community processes developed there, a neighborhood was born, independently of social status, history, occupation, permanence and roots." (HKB Translation) --Page 16.
